Just got back to the hotel from our first practice. It was pretty awesome meandering through the hills of Jerusalem with a hockey arena as the end destination. Really, it is the home of Jerusalem’s professional basketball team which is made obvious by the height of the shower heads in the locker room.
It was great getting out on the ice and getting some shots. As expected, the arena is humid and the ice is soft but is improving day by day according to the women’s and youth teams that have been practicing for several days already. The result is more effort to move from side to side and more sweat. Fortunately I have a balcony outside of my room at the hotel. It overlooks a courtyard shared by some other hockey players so my drying system doesn’t stand out!
