We tied Canada in an outstanding hockey game this morning. With the game tied 0-0 after the first period, Canada scored two goals in the second period to take a 2 goal lead heading into the break (yes, they make us feel like pros by clearing the ice between periods). But our guys battled back and came out of the locker room scoring 3 straight to take a 3-2 lead. Unfortunately, we gave up a goal with just under two minutes to play, and the game ended in a 3-3 tie. It was an intense game between some of the best 40+ hockey players around, Jewish or not. And it was pretty amazing to line up at opposing blue lines before the game with Team Canada on one side and arch rival Team USA on the other. This is a dream scenario for so many youth hockey players in the US and Canada growing up and here I am a part of it.
Due to the number of goals allowed, we are the #2 seed in the medal round and will play Israel on Wednesday. I didn’t play versus Canada but should see time Wednesday.
