Tuesday July 19 entry. Info for Semifinals tomorrow.

Today was a day off for the team, and I used the time to catch up on some sleep, some laundry (thanks to my teammate Steve Kohn!) and some work. I also walked by myself around Ben Yehuda Street (the Newbury Street of Jerusalem) to take care of some shopping and just absorb the culture around me.

Tonight we had our team dinner at a restaurant on the roof of the Notre Dame Center of Jerusalem. The views of the old city were spectacular in the fading day light. The architecture and purpose of the building itself along with all of the crosses that can be seen along the city skyline are reminders that Jerusalem has historical significance for many religions, not just the Jews.

Our game tomorrow versus Israel is at 12:30 PM EST (a more palatable 5:30 AM EST). I’m not sure what my playing situation will be but was told to be ready. Here’s the link to the game: https://youtu.be/ki3e14rO8EQ

  1. Sounds like a perfect day. The views are
Beautiful. We just arrived in Bend, OR and we’re driving to the Fertig’s house. Which means that the game will be at 2:30 a.m. here!

I’m so grateful for Johanna and Leslie—and Brian—I wouldn’t have felt comfortable leaving if not for them. I’m sure they’ll have a great time in Maine, and even visiting day.
